Since 2005, The Fondation Clément has been tirelessly collecting a set of documents testifying to the social and economic history of Martinique.
It thus created and disseminated a large documentary collection bringing together private archives, iconographic collections and a library devoted to the History of the Caribbean, containing remarkable books, some of which date back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
The library of the Fondation Clément brings together the libraries of Emile Hayot, Jacques Petit Jean Roget, Bernard Petit Jean Roget, Marcel Hayot and Henri Theuvenin. A contemporary library completes the whole collection in continuity with these heritage libraries made up of bibliophile scholars.
The documentary collections reflect the history, activities and missions of the Fondation Clément.
